“7th Grade Cooker” not only is the handwritten note etched on the insole of the upcoming footwear, but it is also the emotional connection Frank Cooke approached when designing the Jazz 81. The limited 750 Saucony x Frank Cooke Jazz 81 pairs are elevated with suede details highlighting Pink and Violet on a seasonal Black base. Along with the nostalgic footwear, an 80s inspiration is followed through with a limited apparel collection.
Every detail on this project is an emotional reference to growing up in the 80s. From various alliterations and pronunciations of Saucony (a personal Frank experience) on the apparel collection, to the bright neon light colors on the footwear, are all details meant to revisit a youthful experience in a time that seems not too distant from today.
